Savage Beauty

The most recent exhibit organized by The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty opened this week to incredible review. Without fail this is the most highly theatrical and well produced show in years, honoring what many feel is one of the greatest artistic savants of our time. Spanning the entirety of his career, here are a few of our favorite pieces on display:

Plato’s Atlantis
Dress, No.13 Spring/Summer 1999

Note: The Cabinet of Curiosities is our favorite room in the exhibition – plan to bring a beach chair and spend as much time there as possible. Here you’ll find some of McQueen’s most iconic collaborative work including hats from designer Philip Treacy and Shaun Leane’s ‘Spine’ Corset from the spring/summer 1998 collection. Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty runs through July 31st, 2011.
